*** WE WILL NOT ACCEPT PINNED SLEEVES ***
Directions for a 4” Permanent Sleeve
This sleeve is applied at the same time as the binding.
Cut a strip of fabric 8 - 1/2 “wide and about 1” shorter than the width of your quilt. For example, 71” strip for a quilt that is 72” wide. (SEE NOTES 1 and 2)
Hem the ends using a double folded 1/4 - 3/8” seam allowance.
Fold the strip in half, lengthwise, with wrong sides together. Place both raw edges of the sleeve along the unfinished top edge of the quilt and pin to the quilt back, as you are pinning the binding to the quilt front. You may wish to baste the sleeve into place with a 1/8” seam allowance to help hold it in place. Stitch through all the layers using a 1/8” allowance to help hold it in place. Stitch through all the layers using a 1/4 “ seam.
Blind stitch the binding over the stitching line on the quilt back, then blind stitch the bottom, folded edge of the sleeve to the back of the quilt. Leave a bit of slack when sewing the bottom edge.
Directions for a 4” Temporary Sleeve
With this method, you apply the sleeve after the binding has been finished.
Cut a strip of fabric 8 - 1/2 “wide* and about 1” shorter than the width of your quilt. For example, 71” strip for a quilt that is 72” wide. (SEE NOTES 1 and 2)
Hem the ends using a double folded 1/4 - 3/8” seam allowance.
Sew into a tube with right side together. Turn right side out. Hand stitch one edge of the sleeve just below the binding. Leave a bit of slack when hand sewing the bottom edge.
NOTES:
If your quilt is wider than 90”, please divide the sleeve into 2 or 3 separate segments to allow us to add additional support to prevent the quilt from sagging while it is on display.
If your wall hanging or table runner width is less than 36” we will accept a 2-1-2 “ sleeve, therefore cut a strip 5-1/2“ wide rather than 8-1/2”.
Our goal is to hang your quilts, etc., and attach display cards, with no pins.

OVERVIEW
The Members Boutique at the quilt show has two purposes; (1) It allows members an opportunity to sell their handmade goods and (2) it allows members an opportunity to sell their gently used craft supplies.
HANDMADE GOODS
The category of handmade goods is unlimited. If you enjoy sewing, think about bags, pouches, pin cushions, quilts, mug rugs, etc. If you enjoy paper crafts, think about journal covers, junk journals, book marks, cards, etc. If you enjoy knitting, think about socks, hats, scarfs etc. Maybe jewelry making or beading is your thing.
CRAFT SUPPLIES
Do you have an overabundance of books, fabric, beads and yarn supplies? Do you have extra sewing machines, embroidery hoops, ott lights, and others in excellent condition? Here’s your chance to purge your excess “stuff” and sell it.
As we get closer to the show date I will be checking to see if you will be selling anything at the boutique and what is on your list. In the meantime, if you have any questions feel free to contact me, Gail O. at gogail91@gmail.com Good Luck!
